Canada's Wonderland is Canada's largest theme park with over 50 rides and 200 attractions. It opened in 1981 in Vaughan, Ontario, and was Canada's first major theme park. The park, when owned by Paramount Parks in 1994 was known as Paramount Canada's Wonderland. When sold to Cedar Fair in 2007, the park was re-named to it's original name. The park has been the most attended seasonal theme park in North America for a number of years in the 2000s. Almost every year the park has an attendance of over 3 million, which has been slightly higher than the attendance of other major destination parks such as Kings Island and Cedar Point. The park also holds the record for most roller coasters in a park outside of the United States with a total of fifteen.
Canada's Wonderland has a very short season, only open from May to just the weekends of September and October. The daily hours always begin at 10am but can close anywhere from 5pm to 11pm. Wonderland offers a variety of tickets and passes (including the platinum pass which allows free parking). But generally, the admission is 39 dollars, and passes are $69.
Some of the key features are thrill rides - including the Behemoth which is Canada's largest, fastest, and tallest roller coaster - daily live shows, dining, & splash works. Each year Canada's Wonderland invests into new improvements. Since it opened, they have invested over $250 million.
